A 4 WD road past the lake will take you to the Black River. Fool Hollow Lake – This is a 149 acre lake, 4 miles off AZ 260, using Old Linden Road and either 32nd  or 22nd Street out of Show Low. Mostly trout, beautiful in the fall when the Aspen leaves turn. It is best in early spring or late fall. It doesn’t offer much for the fly fisherman, having supposedly only Sunfish and small Cats. It is supposedly located 3 miles west of Reservation Lake off RR 20, though I can’t find it on any maps. Sometimes it's a lake; sometimes it's not. Bone Yard Creek – This creek is located just north of the East Fork of the Black River crossing in the vicinity of Hannagan Meadow and is accessed by FSR 249 north of Alpine off US 191. This is a beautiful scenic area. The only facilities at the lake are Porta Johns. These are “Pay to Play” waters, by the pound. Slush Be Zahze (Apache for Little Bear Lake) though at 18 acres it is a shade larger than the other, which is nearby just north of AZ 260. There are also special size and bag limit regulations for this lake. It is a fly and lure only lake with “Catch and Release” for Apache Trout and Grayling. This is a lake where early in the morning and evening really pertains, at least for the fly caster. These tanks were very popular before the building of Horseshoe Reservoir.
